1. Who we are

Klockn ("Klockn", "we", "us", or "our") is a group scheduling and availability platform that helps people find times that work for everyone. Our service is available at klockn.com.

This Privacy Policy describes how Klockn collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

For questions about this policy, contact us at hello@klockn.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

Information we collect automatically

Calendar data (when you connect Google Calendar)

See Section 3 for a full explanation of exactly what calendar data we access, how we use it, and how it is stored.

3. Google API data — what we access and why

Google API Limited Use Disclosure

Klockn's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What we request access to

When you connect your Google Calendar, Klockn requests the following OAuth scope:

Scope What it allows Why we need it
calendar.readonly Read-only access to your Google Calendar data To determine when you are free or busy, so your group can find a time that works for everyone

What we actually read

✅  We see: Time blocks when you are marked as free or busy (start time, end time, busy/free status)

❌  We never see: Event titles, event descriptions, event locations, attendee names or email addresses, meeting notes, attachments, recurrence patterns, or any other event content

Klockn queries the Google Calendar freebusy API, which by design returns only free/busy intervals — not event details. This is a deliberate technical and product decision to protect your privacy.

How we use Google Calendar data

What we do not do with Google data

Refresh tokens and storage

To keep your free/busy data current without requiring you to reconnect each time, Klockn stores an encrypted OAuth refresh token. This token is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and is used solely to refresh your free/busy availability periodically. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by disconnecting within the Klockn app.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your data for behavioural advertising. We do not sell your personal data.

5. How we share your information

With other Klockn users

When you join a group, other members of that group can see your free/busy availability for the current week. They cannot see your event titles or any other calendar details — only whether you are free or busy at a given hour.

With service providers

We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate our Service. All providers are bound by data processing agreements and may only process your data as directed by us:
